Each year Queen Anne's County Retired School Personnel Association sponsors two $2000 scholarships, awarded to graduating seniors who are majoring in education or school counseling with the intent of becoming an educator or counselor. In order to be considered for the scholarship, the required information must be submitted by the date stipulated to the Scholarship Committee. Interested applicants with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and graduating from one of the Queen Anne's County public high schools should contact their high school guidance counselor for more information.
SCHOLARSHIP AWARD CRITERIA
The following criteria will be used in determining the scholarship recipient:
- The student should be a graduating senior from one of the Queen Anne's County public high schools;
- The student should be majoring in education with the intent of becoming a teacher or school counselor;
- The student should have a grade point average of 3.0; an official transcript of the student's grades must be submitted;
- The student must have established a record of community service and/or extra-curricular activities; a resume or list should be submitted; and
- The student must submit recommendations by one (1) teacher and the grade counselor and a letter written by the student stating the need for the scholarship and the student's qualifications for the award.
- All required information must be submitted to the Scholarship Committee by the date stipulated on the application form.
